That same day, I had another type of interview. That one was for a comic book themed summer camp. It was funny how the people who interviewed me kept saying it wasn’t an interview but a “meeting just to get to know you” type of thing. I’m glad we got on the subject of many things that were only semi-relevant, and I really liked their vibe. I’m really excited to have the opportunity to hang out with kids again but without the stress of working through the educational system. I hated having to juggle with every issue on top of the stress that was brought on by being forced to follow a curriculum that no one else seemed to follow, let alone understand. The best part will be that there’s a maximum of 15 kids in the camp and they’ll always be accompanied by their camp monitor, so I get to skip the crappy discipline part of the job!
Also this week, my webcomic is finally ready! I’ve posted the cover already on my website (just click on webcomic at the top of the page) and tomorrow I’m posting the very first page. I’ve got a week advance and up to page 12 already inked so far. The colors and script just have to be put into place and that shouldn’t be a problem because I’ve only got one small contract for the magazine L’Itinéraire to finish for June.
I’ll be travelling to Toronto for the TCAF this year from May 13th to 14th, I’m also participating in the NDG Porchfest May 20th-21st as the artist for the posters, and also as an exhibitor at the FBDM at Lafontaine Park for the last weekend of May. I’ll be leading a 2-hour workshop at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, the Saturday morning at 10am. I’m excited to get to share comics and well-being with the people there and hopefully help people out as much as my book did for some!
